The quarterly magazine published by the Historical Society of Southern California has a long and distinguished history. Beginning in 1884, one year after the the Society was founded, HSSC began to issue An Annual Publication. In 1935 a quarterly journal was launched. As a respected historical resource, the Southern California Quarterly continues its commitment to scholarship, public awareness and appreciation of local history in a lively and colorful new format.
